Governor Sonny Perdue announced several executive appointments on Thursday and Rev. William C. Bacon, DMIN of Tyrone was one of them. Bacon was named to the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage & Family Therapists.
Bacon, 55, is a licensed marriage and family therapist and is vice president for development for the Georgia Baptist Health Care Ministry Foundation. He is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists as well as the Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. He is a fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and an alcohol and drug risk reduction evaluator and instructor for the State of Georgia Departments of Human Services and Public Safety. Bacon earned a bachelor’s degree from Mercer University as well as a master’s degree and a doctoral degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Angela, have two children and three grandchildren.
