Three new Eagle Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 75, chartered by the Peachtree City United Methodist Church, were recognized at the State Capitol during winter break by Governor Sonny Perdue and Representative Matt Ramsey. From left are Representative Ramsey, Carl Eifert, Governor Perdue, Ben Brettin, and Alex Pearson. All three scouts are seniors at McIntosh High School and they have been together in scouting since first grade when they started out as Tiger Cubs in Pack 181. While at the capitol, the scouts presented the governor with a photo taken in 2002 when the newly-elected governor was the Grand Marshall of the Peachtree City July 4th parade. For Carl’s Eagle Scout Project, he constructed a fully-enclosed batting cage at J.C.Booth Middle School – the first-ever practice facility of its kind at the school. For Ben’s Eagle Scout Project, he created and produced a video for new Special Education students at McIntosh High School to help ease their transition into high school. The video introduced the students to all the special education services, school grounds and staff at McIntosh High School. For Alex’s Eagle Scout Project he designed and constructed a planter to control erosion and improve the appearance of an area around a classroom trailer at McIntosh that is built on an incline adjacent to a large dirt area that is subject to water run-off.
