William Francis “Bill” Miret, 64, died Feb. 2, 2010, from complications associated with a third battle against cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis W. Miret and a brother-in-law, Jerry Bopp. He was born May 8, 1945 in Lynn, Mass. and raised in Revere’s Point of Pines. He attended school at Immaculate Conception and then Southeastern University. He was a 37 year employee of Delta Airlines rising through the ranks to his current position of duty director, OCC.
A funeral mass was held at the Catholic Church of St. Gabriel with the Rev. Father Michael McWhorter officiating. Survivors include his wife, George Ann Bopp Miret, Atlanta; mother, Genevieve Driscoll Miret; a brother Paul and Karen Miret, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Patricia Kennedy Bopp, Davie, Fla., and Kathy Bopp Parramore, Tallahassee, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Kevin Bopp, Sanford, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to Piedmont Hospital of Atlanta. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
