Congregation B’nai Israel will host a Book Fair at Barnes & Noble in Fayetteville Saturday, Dec. 12 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Dec. 12 is the second night of Chanukah, the Jewish celebration of the victory of the Maccabees and the rededication of the Jerusalem Temple. It also commemorates the miracle of the oil that burned for 8 days.
Beginning at 5:10 p.m. in the Starbucks Café, children from the Religious School will sing Chanukah songs, led by Cantorial Soloist Susan Levine. Then a member of the congregation, Kathy Baker, will tell the Chanukah story. Members of Congregation B’nai Israel will light the Chanukah candles after the songs and story.
The community is invited to attend. Contact Congregation B’nai Israel for more information, 678-817-7162, or Sandy DeMuth at [email protected].
