Donna Massey has just finished hanging her artwork that for the next two months will grace the ‘Entry Gallery’ at the Coweta County Administration Building, 22 East Broad Street in Newnan.

Creative and fine arts have long been part of Donna Massey’s life.  In high school she studied art, but in college pursued a degree in Christian education and music.  Through the years she has enjoyed art as a hobby.  After a career change, Donna was again able to refocus on her artwork.

Acrylics are her medium of choice, having discovered their versatility while in high school. She enjoys painting pastoral landscapes that depict a quiet and peaceful lifestyle — serenity for the busy, working wife and mother.

Originally from Alabama, Donna currently lives in Newnan with her husband and two grown children. She is an active member of the Newnan Coweta Art Association.

Eager to further hone her craft, Donna has taken art classes with Kay Stanley of Sharpsburg and has attended life drawing sessions led by nationally known, award winning artist Martin Pate.

Local and regional exhibits of Donna’s original paintings have been at the Carnegie Library in historic downtown Newnan, the PAPP Clinic in Sharpsburg, the Peachtree City Public Library, and the Arts Clayton Gallery in Jonesboro. The last four consecutive years, she has had paintings juried into the Newnan Coweta Art Association’s (NCAA) Annual Member Show. Donna won third place in the Acrylic and Mixed Media category at the NCAA’s 2014 Spring Fling Show. In February 2015, she was named the Newnan City Hall Artist of the month.
