David Charles Murphy, Sr., 62, passed away October 20, 2013.
He was a 1969 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School and received a degree at University of Georgia in psychology. He retired as senior vice president with 20+ years at Gate Gourmet. He recently relocated from Fayetteville to his dream home in the mountains of North Georgia.
He is survived by his son Charlie Murphy of Atlanta; mother Rudelle M. Wright of Peachtree City; former wife Kathy Disharoon Murphy of Atlanta; aunts Faye Bennett of Toccoa and Louise Wright of Acworth; numerous cousins, nieces & nephews, extended family, and faithful labrador “Buster.”
A funeral service will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. The burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
