SUMMARY:Christmas with the Southern Crescent Chorale
DESCRIPTION:Christmas with the Southern Crescent Chorale is a holiday tradition in our community and is a delightful way to begin your holiday season. Joined by the Whitewater High School Chorale on Friday evening and Starr’s Mill High School Chanticleer on Sunday afternoon\, the Chorale will perform a concert of cherished Christmas favorites accompanied by a full professional orchestra. \nRichard Clement\nThe Chorale welcomes Grammy-winning American tenor\, Richard Clement\, as guest soloist for both concerts. Clement has performed with most of America’s major orchestras and their music directors\, bringing tonal beauty and superb musicality to repertoire from the baroque to the contemporary. He recently premiered–and recorded–Theofanides’ The Here and Now with Robert Spano and the Atlanta Symphony\, including performances in Atlanta and at Carnegie Hall. \nClement studied voice at Georgia State University and the Cincinnati Conservatory\, where he received his Master of Music degree. His dozen recordings include Britten’s War Requiem with the Washington Choral Society\, Bartók’s Cantata Profana with the Atlanta Symphony (both Grammy winners) and Tchaikovsky’s Pique Dame. Clement is currently an associate professor and Artist-in-Residence at Atlanta’s Georgia State University. \n\n“Christmas is a day of meaning and traditions\, a special day spent in the warm circle of family and friends.” ~ Margaret Thatcher. \n\nTickets are available at the Fayetteville Library or online at www.southerncrescentchorale.org. Advance tickets are $20 for adults\, $15 for students and seniors. Tickets are $25 at the door.
