The play\, a re-imagining of the final hours of Dr. Martin Luther King’s life\, is a fundraiser for the theater’s Keep Us Covered roof fund. \nOn April 3\, 1968\, after delivering one of his most memorable speeches\, an exhausted Dr. King retires to his room at the Lorraine Motel while a storm rages outside.  When a mysterious stranger arrives with some surprising news\, King is forced to confront his destiny and his legacy to his people. The production contains content not suitable for children ages 12 and under. \nShowtimes for “The Mountaintop” are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday\, January 17 and 18\, and 2:30 p.m. January 19. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased on-line at stgplays.com or at the door.

SUMMARY:Valentine Card Making + Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:The community is invited to spend an afternoon to craft for compassion. Make a Valentine’s Day card to keep and one to give to a neighbor in need. Donations start at $10 for a single kit to make two greeting cards. All supplies are included. Proceeds to benefit Healing with Art N Sound\, a Fayette County nonprofit raising awareness about the barriers to mental health resources for individuals in hospitals\, cancer centers\, and assisted living facilities. The organization fosters emotional release and self-awareness through expressive arts and sound healing (Originally scheduled for 1/31; rescheduled due to weather for 2/12/26).
