The Fayette County Public Library and the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library will host the 17th Annual Blended Heritage Celebration on Friday, Feb. 27.

The free evening of performing arts entertainment begins at 7 p.m. at the library, which is located behind the Fayette County administrative complex in Fayetteville at the southwest corner of highways 85 and 54.

This year’s theme is “Patchwork Nation.” Those planning to attend can look forward to original poetry by Collin Kelly, heavenly harp playing by Ashley Collins, floor-shaking dance from the Beulah Boys, the smooth singing voice of Reginald Dancil, and the incomparable sounds of Brien Engel and his Glass Harp. The evening will culminate in a virtuoso set by Atlanta’s own blues-singing powerhouse, national recording artist Francine Reed. Reed brought down the house the last time she graced the library stage at the 2011 Blended Heritage program.

Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Complimentary refreshments catered by A Touch of New Orleans will be served after the performance.

Presented every February since 1999, the Blended Heritage Celebration has become a Fayette County tradition the community looks forward to every year. This free community event is made possible by support from the Fayette County Board of Commissioners and from the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library, a membership volunteer organization that raises funds to assist with library programs and services throughout the year.
