The 10th annual Chair-ity Event benefiting The Children’s Village at Christian City is today from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza, 201 Aberdeen Pkwy. in Peachtree City. Tickets are available Nov. 1 and are $55 each. Sponsorship levels range from $250-$10,000.There will be a raffle drawing for an Infiniti Q50. Tickets are $25 each or five for $100.Artists, business leaders, volunteers and philanthropists come together each year to support The Children’s Village at Christian City at the Chair-ity event, featuring live jazz, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, silent auction and a raffle drawing to win a new Infiniti Q50 from Infiniti of South Atlanta. The raffle is hosted by South Side Atlanta Rotary Clubs.
All proceeds from both the Infiniti Raffle and the Chair-ity event will support children in need, victims of abuse and abandonment who now live safely at The Children’s Village at Christian City. The Infiniti raffle drawing will occur at the end of the event and you do not have to be present to win. Southside Theatre Guild will present “In-Laws, Outlaws, and Other People (That Should Be Shot)” by Steve Franco beginning today at 20 West Campbelltown Street in Fairburn.It is 6 p.m. and the Douglas family is busily preparing to be invaded by their quirky relatives for their annual Christmas Eve dinner. After robbing a neighborhood liquor store, high-strung and irritable Tony, and his dim-witted side-kick Vinny, find themselves in need of a place to briefly hide out. Using a ruse to gain entrance into the Douglas home, they suddenly find themselves in charge of an ever-growing list of family members that they are forced to hold hostage. From smart-aleck teenagers, to nosy neighbors, and bickering adults – the laughs (like the flow of people) are non-stop and we soon wonder who is holding who hostage.Performance dates are Dec. 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 11. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Christmas with the Southern Crescent Chorale has become a highly anticipated event for the south metro communities. After a sellout performance last season, the Chorale will be presenting two Christmas concerts for the community.Joined by the Peeples Elementary Chorus and Madras Middle School Singers, the Chorale will perform beloved Christmas favorites accompanied by a full professional orchestra. Sponsored by Bruce Dickerson – Edward Jones Investments Fayetteville, the concerts are scheduled for Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. at Peachtree City First Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and senior adults (age 60 and over). All tickets are $25 at the door.

Peachtree City will kick off the holiday season with the annual Hometown Holiday today. The fun starts at 5 p.m. at The Fred with a musical program featuring singing and dancing performances by local talent. Kids will enjoy participating in fun activities, and families can gather around the fire pits to make s’mores.Immediately following the program, attendees are encouraged to take their golf carts and follow Santa through the Trail of Lights to City Hall for the lighting of the tree and visits with Santa. Each child participating in the Trail of Lights will receive a free glow necklace to wear on the journey.

St. Andrew’s Fine Art and Craft Christmas Fair and ECW Golden Elephant, Crafts and Bake Sale is today from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Parish Hall at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 316 Peachtree Parkway North in Peachtree City.The event will feature more than 20 invited vendors showing fine art, jewelry, textiles, glass art, ceramics, pottery, wood sculpture, smocked children’s clothing, and more. All proceeds benefit ECW programs and community outreach.

The Sandy Creek High School Choral Booster Club will host its annual “Breakfast with Santa” in the school cafeteria. Tickets are $5 for ages 13 and up, $3 for children 3-12, and $1 general admission for patrons that will not eat breakfast.
A pancake and sausage breakfast will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Santa will take individual photos with children. In addition, there will be live Christmas music by local school choruses and bands along with local arts and crafts vendors who will offer a great chance for Christmas shopping. Vendors will be there until 3 p.m. There will also be children’s activities such as writing letters to Santa, face painting, and cookie decorating. Harry Norman Realtors will present the third annual Fayette Humane Society Christmas Tour of Homes today from 1-5 p.m., showcasing six homes in Fayette County.
Tickets will go on sale Oct. 3 at a cost of $30 and will be available at the Harry Norman Realtor office, 120 Peachtree East Shopping Center in Peachtree City. The homes to be featured are located in six subdivisions in the area including Stoney Brook, Conservatory Pointe, Ashford Park, Greers Mountain, Highgrove and McNeil Farms. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to provide food, shelter and medical attention for the animals. The town of Tyrone’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony is today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Shamrock Park.
There will be music from the Robert J. Burch Elementary School Chorus, Flat Rock Middle School Chorus, Sandy Creek High School Jazz Band, The Way of Life Church Kids and Carols with Singers from Operation Mobilization.The tree lighting will be led by Mayor Eric Dial.
Santa will be there to listen to your Christmas wishes and take pictures. There will also be horse and carriage rides, train rides, ornament making and refreshments will be available.

The Brooks Woman’s Club and the town of Brooks invite the public to “Christmas in the Country,”today in downtown Brooks.
There will be Christmas carols performed by Liberty Tech Charter School students, followed by the town tree lighting and a visit with Santa. “Christmas in Bloom” is today from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Fayette Senior Services’ Fayetteville location (The Life Enrichment Center, 4 Center Drive). During this holiday season, consider adding living beauty to your decor through the addition a holiday house plants. These are a great addition to any home by providing beautiful ornamentals to display as decoration. A volunteer with the Extension Office will teach us about the types of plants to add to your homes this season and how to keep them thriving into the new year.

The Festival of the Nativity is a free annual community Christmas event held in Peachtree City, comprised of a collection of hundreds of nativities representing the cultures of people throughout the world. Live Christmas music from local churches, schools, and ensembles are performed throughout the festival.
