Four Fayette County music students were among the 25 members selected to participate in the 2015-2016 Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program for African-American and Latino classical music students.
They recently performed recitals at the Woodruff Arts Center’s Rich Theatre as a culmination of their yearlong practice and dedication. The students are Alisa Zamore, clarinet, McIntosh High; Errol Rhoden III, tuba, Fayette County High; Triniti Rives, clarinet, Fayette County High; and Wilfred Farquharson, viola, Fayette County High.
Zamore performed “Sonata No. 2” by Brahms, Rhoden performed “Concerto” by Vaughan Williams, Rives performed Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Saint-Saens, and Farquharson performed Marchenbilder by Schumann.
The mission of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program is to identify and develop musically gifted and motivated African American and Latino classical music students for acceptance in top music programs in preparation for careers as professional musicians.
