Corwin S. Freeman Jr, 68, of Elgin, Ill., and Peachtree City, Ga., passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
He was born in Elmhurst, Ill., and raised in Naperville, Ill. He lived by the principle of work hard, play hard. He excelled in the financial planning industry as president of Valley Estate Planners, Ltd. His profession and business were his life passions, and he used to always say he hasn’t worked in over 40 years because if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. Cory treated his clients as family, always creatively finding solutions to maximize his client’s wealth. He leaves behind a highly satisfied client base and many dear friends. He was an enthusiastic Life and Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table since 1981, with Top of the Table production of this elitist group of financial planners.
Cory was an incredible husband to Cynthia Lea Freeman and father to three beautiful, equally favored daughters, Carrie, Katie and Courtney. Traveling the world with his family, Cory lived out many lifetimes worth of adventures and maintained a healthy hatred of the stairs his wife always managed to find while travelling. He is also survived by his three brothers John, Terry, Chris, and his only sister, Mary Katherine.
Cory battled cancer and gave it hell to the very end. He leaves the world a fighter, a Proud Marine Vietnam Veteran, a Jimmy Buffett Parrot Head and avid Notre Dame fan. Cory was a passionate Bridge and Oh Hell player, world traveler, loving husband and proud father. He always had a smile and a story that lit up the room and will be greatly missed by those around him. Cory will be well remembered with every “Margaritaville” song playing and Oh Hell game played.
The family is hosting a Celebration of Life “Parrot Head Style” at the Gilberts, Ill. Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club on Thursday, May 19, 2016, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. for friends and clients. We request that everyone wear your best Jimmy Buffet Beach Wear to enjoy the live music, food, and drinks celebrating a man held so dear by all of us. We request memorials be made to support our country’s veterans as he was a proud member of The United States Marine Corps. Semper Fi.
