Investigators with the Fayetteville Police Department are searching for a man who attempted to rob prescription drugs at the Walgreens store on North Glynn Street on Oct. 14. The man is suspected of similar armed recent robberies in Peachtree City and Stockbridge.

Fayetteville police spokesman Mike Whitlow said the man described as a black male in his early 20s and wearing blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black baseball cap entered the Fayetteville Walgreens at approximately 8:50 p.m.

Security Camera Footage. The man approached the pharmacist and brandished a black revolver and demanded two controlled substances, Whitlow said.

“The suspect initially grabbed her but let go and fled the store without receiving any drugs,” said Whitlow.

Whitlow said the suspect is believed to be the same man who robbed the Peachtree City and Stockbridge stores in the past two weeks, adding that the man is considered armed and extremely dangerous.

The Peachtree City Walgreens on Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway was robbed at approximately 11:05 a.m. on Oct. 11. The description of the man was very similar to that of the man in the Fayetteville robbery.

“During the robbery, the suspect entered the pharmacy area and threatened pharmacists with a handgun,” said Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Mark Brown. “The suspect fled through the front door of the location and ran towards Peachtree Parkway. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area and were unable to locate the offender.”

Multiple agencies are working to apprehend the man, said Whitlow.
