Students from Sandy Creek and Whitewater high schools will showcase their business knowledge on a world state in April when they attend an international conference in Orlando.

A total of 13 DECA chapter students from both schools will attend the DECA International Career and Development Conference April 25-28.

The competitors were determined at the Georgia Career and Development Conference held in Atlanta at the end of February. The top finishers in each project area earned a trip to the international conference.

DECA is a business club that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges throughout the world.

Approximately 16,000 high school students, advisors, businesspersons, and alumni are expected to attend the DECA International Career and Development Conference.

The DECA curriculum provides opportunities for learning about civic responsibilities, participating in community service projects, and interfacing on real issues within the business community. Students attending regional and state conferences, as well as the international conference, also participate in leadership and career advancing workshops.
