My name is Phil Prebor and I would like to be your Peachtree City Council Member. I am running to serve in the Post 1 Seat previously held by Eric Imker. The election is on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015. The first thing I ask is that you vote. Also, I hope that by getting to know me through my website and in person you will give me your trust and your vote.

All of my ideas, thoughts and principles are rooted in one simple but foundational ideal: to maintain and enhance the quality of life we expect in Peachtree City. You should expect nothing less from your elected representatives.

Much like many of you, I am committed to keeping Peachtree City the best place to live for generations to come. My wife, Lali, and I have three wonderful children who spent much of their youth in Peachtree City. We are proud residents and grateful to live, work, and raise our families here. As a community, we have the responsibility to ensure the next generation is provided the same environment we have been blessed with in Peachtree City.

I moved to Peachtree City nearly 25 years ago and have been actively involved in the community since. I know many of you personally through my service on the planning commission, working with you on your home needs, coaching youth sports, volunteering at school events, and being involved in neighborhood committees. I enjoy giving back to a community that has allowed me to build such a close network of family, friends, and customers. I look forward to serving you on City Council and investing in the future of our community.

In 1994, my brother Paul and I started Routine Maintenance, a home remodeling company, to help Peachtree City homeowners. Our success and longevity is directly attributed to the honesty, work ethic, and trust we build into every customer interaction we have. These are the same attributes I will bring to you as your elected official.

Routine Maintenance has given me the unique opportunity to learn about Peachtree City from many viewpoints. I have come to understand the identity of each neighborhood and business district, and I am experienced in working with the city departments for the needs of our community.

Through my service on the Peachtree City Planning Commission, I have built an additional network of citizens keeping me informed on our community from all perspectives. If I am elected, I will seek direct input from the citizens that are affected by any changes. I welcome you to be a part of that entrusted group.

As a small business owner, I understand the inevitability of growth and the need to control it in a manner that is consistent with the vision for our town. As a city, we all must remember that the citizens come first and that new business and the accompanying tax base must be managed in harmony, not in contrast, with those needs. I consider citizen input critical to the council, and will ensure it is always heard.

Both change and routine operation of the city come with a cost, and that cost is passed on, in one way or the other, to you, the citizen taxpayers of Peachtree City. While on the council, I will use the sound business practices that have kept Routine Maintenance going through some of the toughest economic times our generation has seen.

When you elect me, I will seek direct input from you, especially those who are most affected by major changes and growth. I will use the business skills that I have developed managing my company to enhance Peachtree City through effective and efficient government practices. As a member of the City Council, I will seek out objective answers rather than subjective rhetoric.

My hope is that you will join me in the vital effort necessary to keep us living in the best city in the U.S.A.

Thank you for your consideration.
