Peachtree City officials have announced new guidelines in place since Fayette County amended their golf cart ordinance in 2014 and is now requiring registration for all golf carts using paths or approved streets in unincorporated Fayette County.

Peachtree City residents wishing to drive carts to locations outside the city (including Redwine Road area and the school complex) need to obtain a county decal in addition to their Peachtree City decal. Applications and rules for the county’s registration and cart use are available at www.fayettecountyga.gov/finance/golf_carts.htm.

In addition, all carts registered in Peachtree City must be re-registered in 2016.  The registration fee is $15 per year, and Peachtree City residents will pay $45 in 2016 and receive a sticker (the same white numbered decals will remain on the cart) valid through 2019.  Peachtree City golf cart rental businesses will pay $15 and receive a decal valid through Jan. 31, 2017. Non-residents will pay the $15 registration fee plus the $100 non-resident path use fee (which equates to what Peachtree City residents pay in property taxes for path maintenance each year) and receive a sticker valid through January 31, 2017.

The decals have not yet been delivered for the renewal process. Peachtree City will send out notices to non-residents as soon as the decals are in.  Resident renewal will begin in late April after notices are mailed.
