This year, the Southern Conservation Trust is honored to host the 11th Annual Fayette County Earth Day Festival April 21 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. featuring fun, hikes, educational activities for the entire family, local vendors, as well as pet adoptions from the local shelters. The Fayette County government is calling for local residents with kayaks and canoes to assist with cleaning our water reservoirs. The Water Guardians, led by Commissioner Steve Brown, lake clean-up project is April 28, 2018 from 8 to 11 a.m. at Lake Horton at 1275 Antioch Road in Fayetteville.
