As part of Spivey Hall’s Young People’s Concerts series, the Columbus State University Schwob School of Music Percussion Ensemble will perform under the direction of Dr. Paul Vaillancourt on Friday, March 6, at 11:15 a.m.

The Schwob School of Music of Columbus State University has become one of the leading and fastest-growing university-level music programs in the southeast.

The percussion ensemble was established in 2001 as an official part of the university ensemble curriculum, and has since performed all over the southeast presenting a wide variety of pieces from the traditional repertoire to world premieres of contemporary works. The ensemble has collaborated with many faculty soloists and the University Chorale.

Spivey Hall’s Young People’s Concerts (YPC) are 45-50 minutes in length and designed for audience interaction.

While the concerts are intended for children and youth in pre-K to grade 12, Spivey Hall welcomes community members of all ages to the performances. Concerts cost just $2 in advance, $5 on the day of the concert, and are available for purchase now.
