Southside Theatre in Fairburn is producing “Tapestry – the music of Carole King” Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31, at 8 p.m.

Robert Ray, a 1970 graduate of Campbell High School and a native of Palmetto, returns to Southside for the seventh consecutive year. His previous shows, which consistently have been sellouts, have celebrated the music of Ray Charles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, Burt Bacharach and Motown.

Shortly after graduating from the University of Georgia, Ray moved to New York and in 1980 he made his Broadway debut at the Palace Theater. That same year he was nominated for four New York City Cabaret Awards, winning two.

Ray’s productions have been seen in theaters across the country and at such prestigious music festivals as the Spoleto Festival, Rabun Gap Music Festival, Macon’s Cherry Blossom Festival and The Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

“Tapestry” will feature well-loved Carole King songs such as “You’ve Got a Friend,” “It’s Too Late Baby,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” “Where You Lead” and “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” all performed by Ray and seven of Atlanta’s top vocalists and a six-piece band.

The second act will feature a variety of Broadway, pop and gospel songs.

General Reserved tickets are $25 and Patron Reserved seats are $40.
