The American Cornhole Organization [ACO] Majors Tournament in Peachtree City March 20- 21 was a hit in terms of entertainment, and in terms of revenue brought into the city by participants dining, shopping, and staying in Peachtree City’s seven hotel properties, according to the Peachtree City Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).

The competition was held at the Peachtree City Tennis Center with the Dolce Atlanta Peachtree being the Host Hotel.  Participants traveled from 12 states, including: Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and as far north as Maryland, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.  A total of 284 participants registered with 140 teams, and an additional 150 spectators arrived with the players.

The attendees were treated to a weekend of fun, relaxation, and tailgating at the Peachtree City Tennis Center, which was transformed easily to accommodate the regulation dimensions needed to play an officially sanctioned Cornhole tournament.

The ACO Tournament offered fun, festivities, and food for every age group, including a Juniors and Seniors Competition.

While the more serious competitions were taking place, the ACO also offered pay-as-you-play “Luck of the draw” both Friday and Saturday for amateur players, with a $5 buy-in. To keep everyone noshing, Grazing Here brought its food truck over to the Tennis Center parking lot to provide grass-fed burgers, hot dogs, beer and wine.

“We’re extremely excited to have chosen Peachtree City, Georgia to host an ACO Majors Championship for Season 10,” said Frank Geers, President of American Cornhole, LLC. “We were fortunate Peachtree City could be our Host City for this event in March of 2015, and we hope a home to many more ACO events in the future.”

This Cornhole tournament in Peachtree City is the Sixth in the Series of Majors scheduled for ACO Season 10, which runs from September 2014 through July 2015.  The World’s Tournament is scheduled July 7-11 at the Knoxville, TN Convention Center.
