With a history of covering real crime, former WSB-TV newscaster Joyce Oscar teamed up with Donald Reichardt to co-author the Grace Gleason Files, a series of crime novels, inspired by true events, about a “gritty television crime reporter.”

“The Blue Wall,” the second book in the series, is set in Atlanta and is a finalist in the thriller category of the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. “Reporting on Metro Atlanta’s underbelly thrusts Grace into the murky world of suburban drug wars, a treacherous Mexican cartel and a mysterious theft ring that leaves a trail of chaos.”

Oscar and Reichardt, both residents of the metro Atlanta area, will be selling and autographing books from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov, 12, at the Holiday Shopping Spree at the Griffin First United Methodist Church, 1401 Maple Drive.

A portion of the proceeds from book sales is donated to community causes including the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence. For more information on the Grace Gleason Files, visit gracegleasonfiles.com.

In addition to Oscar and Reichardt, the Holiday Shopping Spree will include a variety of vendors selling homemade items, crafts, artwork, vintage jewelry, homemade soap, and much more. Bakesale items, homemade soup and cornbread will also be available for purchase. Proceeds from this event support mission projects of the United Methodist Woman.
