Nov. 5 will mark 27 years of making Christmas brighter for others in the Fayetteville area for Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. The community is invited to share in the 27th annual Christmas Marketplace and help reach the goal of raising $12,000 in six hours to give to local charities. The event is Saturday, Nov. 7,  from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

One of the church’s biggest events, the Marketplace will feature  90-plus unique vendors selling a large variety of items located throughout the entire church campus.

Sponsored by the United Methodist Women, all event proceeds will benefit local non-profit organizations. In the past, the group has been able to donate to Bloom, AV Pride, Fayette Samaritans, and other local ministries.  This year’s recipients will be announced soon.

Homemade vegetable soup and chili dogs will be available at The Grill and homemade baked goods and candies will be sold in the Gingerbread House.

The ever popular Timeless Treasures sale offers gently used items including toys, furniture, collectibles, seasonal and home décor, books, music, housewares, sports equipment, man stuff and much more.

“We hope to meet our goal of raising $12,000, the most ever this year at our largest annual fundraiser,” said Lauren Davis, president of the local United Methodist Women unit.  “Most of our vendors offer unique, handmade items, so it’s always an adventure to shop the Marketplace.  You never know what treasures you may find while supporting many great causes.”

Fayetteville First United Methodist Church is on the courthouse square in downtown Fayetteville.
