Yamaha to transfer ATV production to Newnan

Japan’s loss will be Newnan’s gain, at least in terms of employment. Yamaha Motor Co. LTD, a longtime Coweta employer, announced earlier this week that the production of its all-terrain vehicle (ATV) line currently located in Japan will be transferred to the company’s Newnan facility. Senoia Marathon station busted for video gambling

Senoia Police and Coweta County Sheriff’s deputies converge on the Marathon convenience store on Ga. Highway 85 at Ga. Highway 16 Feb. 26 after finding that commercial gambling was occurring on the premises through the use of the “Slot Machine” style game.

It was a matter of paying cash for credits on “slot machine” style video games that led to the Feb. 26 seizure of cash and equipment at the Marathon convenience store on Ga. Highway 85 at Ga. Highway 16 in Senoia.

Warrants have been filed for three individuals pertaining to the illegal gambling. Read More»

Newnan Youth Council raises funds for Angel’s House

The Newnan Youth Council (NYC) has raised over $500 by collecting coins within the community to donate directly to Angel’s House. The NYC presented the donation February 27.

Arrest made in Fayetteville post office robbery

U.S. Postal Inspectors have arrested one of two men believed to have robbed a contract truck driver at the Fayetteville Post Office Jan. 29.
Anthony Maddox was arrested Feb. 18, said Postal Inspector Yulanda Burns.
