A burglary discovered mid-morning on Thursday at Coe Firearms in Fayetteville resulted in the theft of an undetermined number of weapons and ammunition.

The gun store on Howard Lane at Ga. Highway 54 is located upstairs from the law office of Philip Coe, who said he arrived at 9:50 a.m. and found the downstairs alarm still set, according police spokesman Steve Crawshaw.

Crawshaw said gun store owner Allen Coe told officers he arrived and went upstairs to find gun cases open with an undetermined number of handguns, rifles and shotguns and boxes of ammunition missing.

Crawshaw said it is believed that the building was entered through a rear window.
