Phillip Michael Zacherl, 65, of Senoia, Ga., passed away on May 11, 2014. Phil was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

He is survived by his 3 daughters and their families: Shelley and Nathan Chapman of Mexico Beach, Fla. with their children Destiny and Brittney Shoemaker, Jerry, Samuel, and Korah Chapman; Denny and Jason Bowen of Senoia, Ga. with their children Malachi, Ezekiel, and Jonah; and Casey and Jody Stubblefield of Senoia, Ga. with their children Kayne and Lexy. He is survived by the mother of his children, Lin Zacherl.

He is also survived by brothers and sisters and their families: his sister Sue Freeman and her husband Doug of Douglasville, Ga.; his brother Marty Zacherl and his wife Bonnie of Panama City Beach, Fla.; his brother Jim Zacherl and his wife Lela of Flowery Branch, Ga.; and youngest sister Lynn Morris and her husband James of Carrollton, Ga.

Phil was born in Brookville, Pa. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Atlanta, Ga. and continued his education at the University of Georgia. He earned a Specialist Degree in Education. He taught 7th grade in Fayette County for over 30 years. After retirement, his days were spent enjoying his grandchildren and watching his Georgia Bulldogs.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Heritage Christian Church (2130 Redwine Road, Fayetteville). The family will receive friends at 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. A private graveside service will be held for Mr. Zacherl.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to Southwest Christian Care (7225 Lester Rd. Union City, Ga. 30291).

Phil Zacherl, whether him as father, husband, brother, teacher, or friend, was an amazing man who made an impact of many lives. While we know he is dancing with the Lord, he will be missed by all.
