Peachtree City police have issued warrants for a Kansas City man for multiple counts of identity theft after he stole wallets from gym lockers and used credit cards minutes later.

Police said Brian Gordon, 40 used two credit cards for a $2,818 purchase at Best Buy in Newnan and also at the Newnan Chevron on Hampton Way for a $9.75 transaction. The fraud took place April 9 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. after he stole the wallets from lockers at the World Gym at 680 Lexington Circle in Peachtree City, police said.

The investigation determined that Gordon is wanted for similar crimes in at least three states, and it is believed that he is a corporate chef who travels to functions in different states, putting him in a position to visit gyms and commit similar crimes, police said.

Anyone with information on Gordon’s location is asked to call police at 770-487-8866 or use the department’s anonymous web tips site at www.tipsubmit.com (select “Peachtree”) or submit a tip on the department’s Facebook or Twitter feed.

Gordon was identified by an out-of-state third party after police submitted his photo to social media and various news outlets, police said.
