Fayette schools closed Wed. and Thurs., Coweta schools closed Wed.

Fayette County public schools will be closed Wednesday and Thursday and Coweta County public schools will be closed for students and staff on Wednesday. Both systems will close due to winter weather conditions forecast for the local area.

Fayette schools spokesperson Melinda Berry-Dreisbach said schools will be closed for students and staff on Wednesday and Thursday. All extra-curricular activities for the two-day period have also been cancelled.

Coweta schools spokesman Dean Jackson said schools will be closed for students and staff on Wednesday and extra-curricular activities are also cancelled

As for school closings on Thursday in Coweta, Jackson said in the event of additional Coweta County School System weather-related closings or delays, information will be shared with students, parents and the community through the school system’s website, through the local and Atlanta media outlets, and through the school system's automated calling system.
