A Senoia man was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault on Jan. 22 after pulling a knife on a clerk at Crook’s Hit n Run convenience store.

Senoia police spokesman Jason Ercole said officers at approximately 2:30 p.m. responded to a call about a man threatening a clerk with a knife.

Ofc. Wesley Courtois was nearby and arrived on scene in a matter of seconds, Ercole said, finding 19-year-old Wyman Terry Campbell still standing in front of the counter.

Store employees told Ofc. Courtois that Campbell had just attempted to rob the store with a knife, said Ercole. Courtois ordered Campbell to drop the knife that was in his pocket and Campbell complied.

Campbell was taken into custody without incident, Ercole said.

“The clerk told officers that Campbell attempted to purchase a pack of cigarettes but was ten cents short, when the clerk told him that he did not have enough, Campbell pulled out a knife, shoved it across the counter towards the clerk’s abdomen and said ‘I got ten more cents, give me all your money now,’” Ercole said.

Campbell was transported to the Coweta County Jail on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.
