Glenn H. Blackston, Jr. of Fayetteville and Peachtree City Ga. entered the kingdom of Heaven on May 19, 2018.

He was born in Atlanta, attended Brown High School, and was proud to have worked for Grady Memorial Hospital for 25 years in personnel. Glenn was a devoted husband, loving daddy, an extremely proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a southern gentleman who carried himself with grace, dignity, and love.

Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Glenn H. Blackston, his mother, Elizabeth Blackston, and his brother, Robert M. Blackston.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley B. Blackston, the love of his life; his son, Glen (Dede) Blackston, III; his granddaughters, Lauren (Ryan) Higgins, Katie (Brad) Adams; and his great-grandchildren, Ava, Julia, Ali and Will; his sisters, Marie (Maury) McDonnell, Donna Krilla; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Beverly Casstevens officiating. The family received friends from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family would like to express, with our sincere gratitude, a thank you to Home Instead Senior Care South Atlanta and the entire staff of Arbor Terrace assisted living in Peachtree City, Ga.
