Jackie Louise Shelnutt, age 75, of Gay, Ga. peacefully passed away after a long-fought battle of Pulmonary Fibrosis on March 15, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

There will be a memorial celebrating her life on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 3 p.m. at McIntosh Reserve, Council Bluff Pavilion located at 1046 W. McIntosh Cir., Whitesburg, Ga. 30185.

She was born in Atlanta, Ga. on November 20, 1942 to Mattie Louise and Thomas H. Kendrick. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, lover of plants, and Native American Culture. She was an avid reader, gardener, equestrian, and cook. Her generous, loving, spunky spirit, and quick wit were among a few of the many reasons that she was well loved.

She is survived by her brother, Anthony Kendrick (Sherrie) of McDonough, Ga., three sons, Robert Anthony McElroy, Bryan Keith “Big Mac” McElroy, Henry (Trae) H. McElroy, III, (Melissa) of McDonough, Ga., three daughters, Lisa McElroy Mills (James) of Fayetteville, Ga., Gina Shelnutt Mealor, of Newnan, Ga., Lisa Shelnutt Ragsdale, of Palmetto, Ga., 18 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Jackie fought the good fight, ran her race, and kept the faith and is now receiving her eternal reward. She will be immensely missed, but always in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in her honor to the HELP Spay and Neuter Clinic in Newnan, Ga., Thomaston Animal Hospital in Thomaston, Ga., Coweta Animal Hospital in Newnan, Ga., or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
