Dorothy (Dottie) J. Elias (formerly Jury), 83, of Tyrone, Ga. received her heavenly promotion Sunday, December 31, 2017 after a very short illness. She lived a full and rewarding life, was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother anyone could ask for and now is celebrating her eternal reward with her Heavenly Father.

Dottie was born on September 5, 1934 in Pottersdale, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Glenn and Betreca (Hoover) Lucas. At the age of 12, Dottie taught herself to play piano. She graduated from Cooper Township High School, Lanse, PA in 1952 and married her childhood sweetheart in April 1954. Within two years she had two boys and raised them at home before beginning her working career. She worked for over 20 years at Quaker Market and Riverside Market as a cashier, as a medical secretary for several doctors and medical supply in Clearfield, Pa. and most recently for 23 years for Operation Mobilization in Tyrone, Ga. as a gift entry specialist until she retired at the age of 82. While in Pennsylvania, she was active at the Clearfield Alliance Church, often playing piano and later a member at Crosspoint Community Church in Peachtree City, Ga.

Survivors include brothers, Donald (Doris) Lucas of Karthaus, Pa. and James (Sally) Lucas of Falls Church, Va.; sisters, Marie Taylor of Clearfield, Pa. and Tess Peedin of Richmond, Va.; sons, Bryan (Betsy) Jury of Clearfield, Pa. and Randy (Jaana) Jury of Tyrone, Ga.; grandchildren, Daniel (Joanna) Jury of Atlanta, Ga., Mikael (Stephanie) Jury of Jackson, MS, Adam Jury of Clearfield, Pa., Samuel Jury of Tyrone, Ga., Abigail Jury of Clearfield, Pa., Emily Jury of Tyrone, Ga.; great-grandchild, Caroline Jury of Atlanta, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and her beloved Boston Terrier, Brandie of 12 years.

In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by her first husband (28 years), Emerson K. Jury (1983) and her second husband (5 years), George Elias (1993).

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 3– 5 p.m., with the Funeral Service immediately following at 5 p.m., at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, 180 N Jeff Davis Drive, Fayetteville, Ga. with Rev. Chip Kirk officiating. Interment will be in Clearfield, Pa., with a memorial service at a later date still to be determined.
