So David Epps is now upset about the way Christians vilified President Obama on social media and elsewhere. He didn’t mention the racist attacks. He didn’t mention the slurs against Obama’s lovely wife or beautiful children. He did mention the fact that some Christians were now saying naughty things about Trump, and all this unkind rhetoric has to stop as we’re called to follow the king.
I’d call Mr. Epps a day late and several dollars short. First of all, I haven’t seen any so-called Christians demonize Mr. Lying Orange Small Hands. I did see them lathered up in their righteous Christian anger at President Obama the entire time he was in office, and Epps never wrote a damn thing about that.
The fact is that there are no hypocrites like Southern Evangelical hypocrites. There is no meaner set of haters on the planet. Our own little bastion of Christian ISIS is in our midst and would gladly kill the non-believers, and others, if they weren’t all safely ensconced in their havens of prejudice, hypocrisy, and hate.
So you can save it, Epps, because you pretend not to be just like many of your fellow dogmatic half-witted friends, but there are too few in the Evangelical movement who actually love mankind. Instead they love their dogma, and it shows every day.
What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?
