A burglary reported on Aug. 8 at Olivet Baptist Church on Ga. Highway 314 resulted in a forced entry into a construction trailer located on the property, said Babb.

Babb said three drills, five drill batteries, two battery chargers, a Skil saw and a fan were stolen.

Two entering auto incidents occurred in unincorporated Fayette County during the period.

Babb said one of the incidents occurred at McCurry Park on McDonough Road and was reported on Aug. 5. The owner said he believed the car was secure but discovered his wallet missing from the trunk when he returned to the vehicle at approximately 7 p.m.

Babb said the owner called in a theft in progress, with a responding deputy giving chase to a man seen in the rear of the vehicle as officers arrived. The man was successful in eluding the pursuit.

A perimeter was established by other deputies arriving at the scene. K-9 units arrived, along with investigators, though the the man was not located.
