Mrs. Hazel Longino Birdsong of Tyrone passed away on April 26, 2017.
Not only did Hazel retire from Delta Airlines after 25 years of service, she raised four children as a single mother. She opened her arms, her home, her heart to anyone who needed her. She was an exceptional gardener, turning everything she touched into a beautiful flower or plant. She had a terrific sense of humor and always gave you a sly smile just as she was going to use it. Her ability to immediately connect with any one, any age, any background, endeared her to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.
Hazel was the daughter of the late Lovett and Rosa Reddick of Sylvania, Ga.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Birdsong of Tyrone; her daughter, Cathy Longino of Flowery Branch, Ga.; sons, Linton Longino, Jr. of Kingston, Ga., Michael Longino of Yukon, Okla., and Bruce Longino of Middletown, R.I.; sister, Mary Naramor of Fayetteville, Ga. and brother, Dean Reddick, of Sylvania, Ga.; six grandchildren; one grand goddaughter; twelve great-grandchildren; Fred’s children, Ann Kirkpatrick, Kathy Stephens, and David Birdsong; 6 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 12 p.m. at The Rock Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
