Mr. Larry Jarvis Borton, 85, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, August 20, 2016.

He was born in Warsaw, Ind. to the late George L. and Pauline Workman Borton. He grew up in the Mentone, Ind. and spent four years serving his country in the Air Force. He was a graduate of Indiana University where he earned his Bachelors of Science in accounting. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and was very active in the Jail Ministry in Clayton County.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years: Lynn Borton; children: Barbara (Dan) Monroe; Mark (Felicia) Borton; Christia (Wayne) Bucher; Laura (Bruce) Hall; Ann (Scott) Krebs; David (Leah) Borton; Sarah Borton and Rebekah (Jacob) McGowin; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

He is preceded in death by his brother: Lynn Borton.

Funeral services for Mr. Borton will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Hampton with Rev. Loren Regier and Rev. Tim Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, August 23, 2016 at the funeral home.
