Jeanette (Jan) G. Hall of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 in Houston, Texas with her children and grandchildren at her side.

She was born in Rockton, Ill., on June 13, 1928 to the late Louis and Eleanor Charboneau. She was educated in Rockford, Ill. and married Ralph (Bill) William Hall on April 3, 1948.

As a young woman, Jan was a swimming instructor and life guard and handed down her love of water to her children. Jan also worked as a librarian in Farmers Branch, Texas for many years where she passed on her passion for reading to all she touched.

Throughout her life, Jan was a beloved member of the community and could frequently be found volunteering for various charities and organizations. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, reading, playing cards and the friends she met along the way.

In Peachtree City Jan was a member of Sassy Sisters Book Club, Newcomers, Flatcreek Niners Golf Club, a judge in Memorial Days School Essay Contest and many card groups. Jan and her husband Bill moved to Birmingham, Ala. where she joined the women’s golf club and many card groups. She made many good friends and came back to Peachtree City to retire after 2 years.

Jan’s greatest passion was being a mother and grandmother. She taught them much about love and living life to the fullest. Her curiosity of life and imagination will forever live in their hearts.

Jan is survived by her husband, Bill, her sister, Marilyn Foss of Byron, Ill., two children; Michael Hall and Jill Hall, of Houston, Texas, her daughter-in-law, Kathy Hall and her grandson Matthew Hall and his wife Jaimie. Jan was also loved much by her niece and nephews and her many dear friends.
