Members of the Fayette community are invited to get fit and stay healthy with PiYo, Zumba, Yoga, Pilates and the new Move 4 Life program at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.
“We offer classes for all fitness levels in the mornings, afternoons and evenings,” says associate pastor and instructor Kristin Heiden. “You can work on flexibility and balance or get your heart really pumping. It’s up to you.”
PiYo, a combination of pilates and yoga, is a great class for balance, flexibility and strength. The hour-long class is offered Mondays at 7 p.m.
Step it up a notch and dance it out at Zumba on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. The mix of exercise with Latin dance steps keeps this aerobic workout fun and exciting. The cost is $2 per class through purchase of a $20 punch card. These classes are taught by instructor Kristin Heiden.
Increase flexibility and resilience at special yoga or pilates classes.
Yoga meets on Thursdays at 5:15 p.m. with instructor Toni Padgett.
Pilates meets twice weekly: Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 4 p.m. with instructor Faye Livingston.
The new program, Move 4 Life, offers a great option as a combination exercise and wellness class for those wanting to function at their optimum.
Stressing strength, flexibility, posture, and balance, this program is great for all ages and physical abilities. Movements are specifically designed to minimize risk, discomfort and injury and are adaptable for participants with limited strength or mobility.
Classes meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. or Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m. and are taught by specially trained instructors. Cost is $50 for 30 classes each session or $2 per class.
Classes are held at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, next to the historic courthouse in downtown Fayetteville at 175 East Lanier Avenue.
Everyone in the community is invited to participate. Visit online at the church website, fayettevillefirst.com, or call 770-461-4313 for more information.
