Resurgens Foundation recently presented a gift of $25,000 to The Children’s Village at Christian City to be used to provide the abandoned and abused children who live in the cottages on their campus with a recreational multi-court facility.
The mission of the Resurgens Foundation is to promote active lifestyles for people of all ages and all abilities. The organization recognizes that play is an essential “therapy” to help young people grow stronger and healthier.
“Every child needs outdoor physical activity,” Heidi Becker, marketing and development director of Christian City has said. ”Having a place for our children to exercise and play is critical to keeping them physically and psychologically healthy. The Children’s Village greatly appreciates the Resurgens Foundation’s focus on an active lifestyle, and for our kids it is extremely important. They will have a chance to play basketball, tennis, volleyball and other games, whereas now, all they have is an empty field. Children for years to come will benefit from this very generous gift”.
The Children’s Village at Christian City is a nonprofit, nondenominational organization that provides abandoned and abused children a safe environment in a loving, family centered, residential setting. The organization ministers to those who are dealing with life crisis, such as the death of a parent, divorce, or sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.
The program’s family environment allows children from every background to have access to a traditional family unit and support systems to help mend their wounded spirits. For many children, The Children’s Village may be the only home they will ever remember. Please visit www.christiancity.org or call 770-703-2636 for information about The Children’s Village.
