These days it is important to keep your resume up to date and ready for action, even for those who are employed and have no immediate plans to look elsewhere. For anyone who is actively seeking employment, it is essential to create the best possible resume to represent his or her unique qualifications. The Fayette County Public Library invites the public to attend a free two-hour “Resume Booster” session at the Fayette County Public Library on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 9:30 a.m. The class is taught by Linda Wells, an independent financial advisor and experienced job search coach.

Those who attend the Resume Booster class will learn the ten most common resume mistakes, the ten things every resume should have, and the “magic formula” that will showcase every individual’s skills. In order to attend the Resume Booster session, you must already have a resume; this is not a class for creating a resume from scratch. Every participant is expected to bring a printed copy of his or her resume to the session.

The Oct. 2 session marks the third time the library has hosted the popular Resume Booster class, and the first time it is being offered on a Saturday.

“So many people asked us if we could offer something for people currently working nine to five, but looking for better opportunities,” said Chris Snell, director of the Fayette County Public Library. “After the first couple of sessions were held on weekday mornings, we asked Linda Wells if she would be willing to do the class on a weekend, and she graciously agreed.”

The Resume Booster class is free and open to the public. There is no need to sign up in advance—simply show up at the library with your resume in hand.

The Fayette County Public Library is located behind the Fayette County administrative complex in downtown Fayetteville, at the southwest corner of Highways #85 and #54. For additional information, please contact the library at 770-461-8841.
