It’s that time again when downtown Fayetteville comes alive with fine art, food, and family fun. This Sunday, May 16, the 9th Annual Taste of Fayette returns, showcasing local restaurants selling affordable samples of their finest offerings.

“Tastes” range from .50 to $3 each, so if you just need a snack or you’ve come for a full lunch, they’ve got you covered. Participating vendors this year include Atlanta Margarita Man, Anthony’s Pizza & Pasta/Linda’s All Occasion Cakes, Atlanta RUB BBQ, Baci Italian Cuisine, Broadway Diner, Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse, Cool Flavors Italian Ice, Frank’s At The Old Mill, Johnny’s New York Style Pizza, Longbranch Steakhouse and Seafood, Mangarelli’s Pizzeria, Moe’s Southwest Grill, My Favorite Cookie, Partner’s Pizza, Smoothie King, The Cheesecake Boutique, The Mooving Café, and more. Last year’s award winners were Cheesecake Boutique for the 2009 “Finest Taste” winner and Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse for the “Most Amazing Booth.

All food is sold on a token system, so be sure to bring your cash to redeem for tokens. While munching on the various tastes, visitors can also stroll through the non-food section showcasing a variety of local retail and informational vendors.

This event is designed for the whole family, so be sure to check out the Kids Corner with jumps, slides, face painting and train rides for the little ones, as well as the CSI Crime Lab that will be fingerprinting children for the national database. Most of these kids attractions are at reduced prices or even free of charge. Also enjoy live entertainment all day with great music from CTW and Blues Cat.

Joyce Waits, Main Street Coordinator stated that the “Taste of Fayette” is one of the biggest events for downtown Fayetteville each year. Visit www.fayetteville-ga.gov for a list of upcoming Main Street activities.

The Taste of Fayette kicks off at noon and runs until 5 p.m. The event is held at the Gazebo at Stonewall Village in conjunction with the Fayette Fine Art Show on the Old Courthouse lawn, and the historic and exciting Living History displays outside the Holliday-Dorsey-Fife Museum directly across the street.
